Governance and Administration
B.N. College of Education, Dhoraiya, Banka, operates under a well-defined organizational structure, with the Governing Body serving as the apex authority for institutional policy formulation, planning, and overall administration. The Principal, appointed on the recommendation of a duly constituted Selection Committee as per university norms, heads the institution and oversees academic and administrative affairs.
The Governing Body consists of nine members, including the Principal as the ex-officio Secretary. The Chairman, in consultation with the Secretary, nominates additional members and fills vacancies as required. The Governing Body is responsible for faculty recruitment, infrastructural development, financial management, and policy implementation, ensuring the smooth functioning and growth of the institution.
Administrative Framework
The Principal is supported by Heads of Departments (HODs) and a team of qualified teaching staff who contribute to academic excellence and institutional development. A Superintendent supervises the non-teaching staff, manages financial matters, and coordinates developmental and administrative activities to ensure operational efficiency.
Student Representation
The college maintains an active Students’ Union Body, comprising a President, General Secretary, and several elected Executive Members, each serving a one-year term. An Advisory Board, consisting of three faculty members nominated by the Principal, guides the Union in addressing student welfare issues, promoting leadership, and representing student interests in academic and extracurricular matters.
Employee Regulations and Recruitment
The college follows comprehensive Service Rules applicable to all employees, covering recruitment procedures, salary structures, codes of conduct, and promotional policies for both teaching and non-teaching staff. Recruitment of teachers adheres strictly to UGC and NCTE norms, conducted through a duly constituted Selection Committee to ensure transparency and merit-based appointments.
Grievance Redressal Mechanism
Under the leadership of the Principal, the college has established a Grievance Redressal Mechanism to address concerns raised by students, staff, and the public. A grievance box located near the administrative office allows stakeholders to submit written complaints. These are reviewed and discussed in meetings of the Grievance Redressal Cell, where individuals may be invited to present their issues directly. This mechanism ensures fair resolutions and fosters a healthy, transparent, and supportive academic environment.
Quality Initiatives
Over the years, B.N. College of Education has implemented several quality initiatives in academics, infrastructure, research, and co-curricular activities. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) plays a key role in preparing the institutional perspective plan, monitoring quality benchmarks, and aligning academic activities with UGC guidelines and state and central government standards.
The IQAC includes university representatives, a local government engineer, and the Principal as Chairperson. Together, the committee formulates, reviews, and approves development plans in consultation with department heads and ensures proper execution after obtaining university approvals.
